Cooking is one my favorite things to do. Food makes people happy, and when you make someone a good meal you really show them how much you care for them.
These delicious wraps are made of tempeh, cabbage and teriyaki sauce. Tempeh is an Indonesian food made of fermented soybeans, has a unique nutty flavor, and will absorb marinades and sauces very well.
To make these:
One 8 oz. package of Tempeh
Two cups shredded cabbage
You favorite flatbread wrap (or flour tortilla, burrito/wrap size)
Teriyaki sauce ( I love Soy Vay)
Makato Ginger Soy Dressing
Shred the cabbage as thin as you can. Take out the core of the cabbage if you want, as this is quite tough.
After frying the tempeh, pour in about 1/4 cup of teriyaki sauce. Stir the tempeh so all the pieces are coated and the sugars in the teriyaki sauce get caramilzed. I just eyeball it, but watch it carefully so the sugar doesn’t burn.
Lay your cabbage and some of the Makato ginger dressing on your wrap. Place the tempeh on top of that (let it cool a little first!). Fold in both sides of the wrap, then fold the side closest to you over so that all the ingredients are contained.
Slice and eat! This should make you about four wraps.
